Not Exactly Puritans – Strong Waters in the Ohio Country
Fermented beverages can bring pleasure as well as trouble and the settlers of the Ohio Company had both. Alcohol came in many different forms from ciders, brandy’s, beer, wine and whiskey and used by all ages. Join David Baker and Bill Reynolds for a discussion of some of the early accounts involving alcohol, a little mixology you can perform at home, and a little material culture as we look at various drinking vessels of the period. We promise we will not get you in too much trouble.
