Campus Martius Museum, Marietta, Ohio will be hosting the 13th annual Gunmakers and Allied Artists Day February 18 from 9:30 until 4:00. Flintlock and percussion rifles, essential tools of everyday life during the early settlement period are still being crafted today by recognized traditional artisans. The museum will feature the work of several dozen of these traditional gunmakers as well as other artisans who reproduce objects used during the 18th and 19th centuries. These will include work by blacksmiths, tinsmiths, horn makers, leather workers, and cabinetmakers. There will also be gunmakers supplies and books relating to the subject available for sale. Many of these artists are nationally recognized for their work, which can be found in museums and private collections around the country.
